November - First Pres Kids

We’re learned about CONTENTMENT this month. Check it out!

CONTENTMENT, Don't miss out on what you have now!

In virtual Sunday School, we talked more about CONTENTMENT and the importance of being thankful for what we have right now in this present moment. We learned that the Israelites, caught up in their past and worrying about their future, missed out on what God was doing for them in the present. He rescued them, gave them freedom. He was feeding them with food from Heaven and water from a rock! We did a gratitude scavenger hunt and made a Thanksgiving gratitude tree table decoration using items found in and around the home.

CONTENTMENT, Use what you have to help others!

In virtual Sunday School, we finished our theme of CONTENTMENT by talking about using what we have to help others. We learned that even though the people of Macedonia were poor, they gave as much as they could to help other Jesus followers and they did it with joy. We looked at some everyday objects lying around the house and came up with creative ways to use them to help others. For example, a pen can be used to create a special drawing, card, or letter. Socks can be donated to someone in need or crafted into a neat sock toy. A soup can be made into a beautiful winter decoration/pencil holder/plant holder (perfect for a holiday gift!) We listened to "A Little Spot of Giving". This book reminds us that the most amazing gifts we can give aren't physical things at all. We can give the gift of kindness, love, compassion, time, teaching, friendship, and so much more!
