We’re learned about CONFIDENCE this month. Check it out!
In virtual Sunday school, we heard the story of Peter walking on water and how he began to sink when he lost focus on Jesus. We looked at a painting that perfectly represents this story - Hand of God by Yong Sung Kiim and learned that this painting is unique because it was painted in Peter's first person perspective to help us imagine Jesus reaching out his hand for us when we feel like we are drowning in life. We looked at some everyday items and discussed which would float or sink and learned of 5 animals that can actually walk on water! We watched a video of the basilisk lizard (aka Jesus Christ lizard) walking on water.
In virtual Sunday School, we talked about different types of armor and the purpose of it. We learned that the most important armor we have is the invisible armor given to us by God to help us stand up to anything we face in life. We looked at each individual piece: the belt of truth, the armor of godliness, the helmet of salvation, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, and the sword of God's word.
In virtual Sunday School, we discussed how life is full of things that change and learned that God's love is one thing that never changes. With a simple recipe, we learned how to make salt dough hearts that can serve as a reminder of God's amazing love. As we mixed colors together, we noticed that at some point the colors couldn't be separated. The same is true of God's love! No matter what happens...even if we make bad choices, we can't be separated from God's love.
