COMMITMENT, Practice what matters most
In virtual Sunday School, we began our theme of COMMITMENT by talking about the importance of practice. We talked about things we practice in life- school work, writing, reading, music, sports, etc. We learned that it's important to practice what matters most and for all of us that is our relationship with God. Having a plan is always step one.
We can practice our faith by following a plan like this:
1) HEAR - listen to God's word, read the Bible,
2) PRAY - connect with God - talk to Him, ask for His help,
3) TALK - talk about God with others,
4) LIVE- put what we believe into action - love God by loving others
COMMITMENT, Talk about God
In virtual Sunday School, we discussed 2 ways to commit to practicing our faith - talking to God and talking to others about God. The children were shown a simple but confusing paper cutout design and when none of the children could figure out how it was made, it was decided that if they wanted to learn to make it, they would ask the one who made it - me. The children were reminded that this is the very reason we should turn to God in prayer - He is the expert who made the world and us. Later we focused on talking about God to others. We looked at an origami puppet (made by me) and discussed the fun of puppets - you can have them say whatever you want! Our puppet told us some fun riddles. Some were too difficult to figure out. The children were reminded that we can talk about so many things with others but the most important thing to talk about is God.
