We’re learned about PATIENCE this month. Check it out!
March - First Pres Kids
PATIENCE, God is with you while you wait
In virtual Sunday School, we began our theme of PATIENCE with the story of Simeon waiting for the Messiah. We tested our patience by doing some exercises for one whole minute each. We talked about how difficult but important waiting can be as we looked at a science experiment that wasn't working because we hadn't waited the 15 hours needed. We learned that no matter what we wait for, God is always with us. We can trust Him as we wait just as Simeon did. We looked at an egg object lesson in amazement - an uncooked egg can actually support the weight of more than a brick! During challenging times, we might feel fragile like an egg but when we keep our patience and trust God, we're much stronger than we think!

PATIENCE, Remember what is true
This week in virtual Sunday school, we continued our theme of PATIENCE with the golden calf Bible story. We took guesses at some fun true or false statements and learned that the most important truth statements for us to remember are about God...He loves us, knows what's best for us, is always with us, and can be trusted no matter what. These truths help us in times when it's hard to have patience. Things might not always happen when we want them to but we can have faith that God's timing is just right. We talked about some processes in nature that take a really long time but have amazing results - fruit tree seeds, crystal formations, fossils (we even got to look at some real examples from own collections).

PATIENCE, worth the wait
In virtual Sunday School, we heard the story of Esau and how his lack of patience caused him to lose his inheritance. We discussed some "would you rather" questions and discovered that a lack of patience on our end could also lead to us lose big. We watched a video of kids who were given the choice of eating candy now or waiting to find out what’s in a big Christmas box. It was interesting to see the children's different reactions. We were reminded that sometimes we have to wait for God's plan but it's worth waiting for.

PATIENCE, Celebrate while you wait!
In virtual Sunday School, we closed on our theme of PATIENCE by talking about celebrations. We learned that Palm Sunday is a perfect reminder that we can celebrate even when we're waiting. We can have patience because we know God will always come through for us. We talked about our favorite holiday celebrations, played a celebration guessing game, and had a staring contest. A silly staring contest taught us that waiting can be much more fun if we smile and laugh rather than sit with a straight face. We also watched a Palm Sunday Bible story video and tested our knowledge of the story by answering some questions.
