Christian Yoga and Meditation

Peace for Mind, Body, and Soul

At First Presbyterian Church of Rutherford, we understand the importance of maintaining a healthy mind and body in conjunction with a healthy soul. In 2013, we first introduced our Christian Yoga and Meditation Program to provide our congregation and surrounding community with a regular practice that would help restore and maintain inner peace and relaxation. We wanted to achieve this in an environment that was designed to enhance and grow one’s personal relationship with God. The program has taken off and grown over the last 3+ years from a once a week Sunday yoga class to multiple class offerings throughout the week.

The program is now led by certified Yoga Instructor David Bogdanos. David, a yoga practitioner for the past 15 years, became certified in 2010 and has been trained by some of the most respected yoga teachers in the tri-state area. David has crafted his yoga philosophy through compiling various techniques he has learned from these wonderful teachers he had the privilege to study under. The weekly sessions are suitable for all ages and fitness levels, and no prior experience in yoga or meditation is necessary. Members of the community and walk-ins are welcomed and encouraged to come and experience this unique fusion of spiritual yoga. Please join us anytime – there is always a warm welcome! Come for one session or come for them all, we hope to see you there soon!

“I believe the practice of yoga has opened my life and heart to a whole new way of thinking. I appreciate each day of my life and live it to the fullest. I love both teaching yoga and witnessing the profound transformation that unfolds when people practice it. Yoga not only promotes better physical health, it also brings about mental, emotional, wellness and balance, in addition to spiritual awareness. So come join me on this journey, if only to release stress, laugh, and feel lighter. Come with an open heart, while having some fun in the process. I look forward to meeting you on our mats.

There are no strangers, just friends I haven’t met yet.”
